Styles to Adopt

Recently I have gained around 9 pounds in weight and I am hovering around 13 stone at the moment.  So you could call me pLUS sIZE lol .  I have had to adapt my style in order to look descent.  When I was young I always loved dungarees and I always wanted pinafores but  When you buy clothes from high street shops you can never get what you want or achieve the image that you visualise in your head because you have to buy what is in fashion, which is always very limited for a limited amount of time.  If you want something specific you have to wait until it comes round again.  I can not be bothered with that so for many years I have abandoned the high St.  and been absolutely fascinated with discovering other styles and looks both retro and vintage and making them work for me.  I have also developed my sewing skills so that I am not a slave to fashion and I can make what I want, when I want it.

So here are Styles that I admire, that I have found on Pinterest and that I hope to create in the future.

                                Jackets and Waistcoats

Nice roomy Coat

Denim coccoon Dress

Quirky Jacket and Skirt

Wrap top and big skirt

I am going to make this skirt out of an old Coat that I have.  I will blog this creation so keep watching out for that.

I Can not wait to start making these clothes they are so comfortable and I really like the quirky look of them.

Personal style that I admire - Lynn Yaeger

While surfing the net and looking on Pinterest I came across an Interesting looking woman and I had to pin her.

Yesterday I decided to find out who this woman was.  So I did a bit of research.

This lady is called  Lynn Yaeger. She is a contributing fashion editor to Vogue.com and a contributing writer to Vogue. She is a former fashion reporter for The Village Voice, having worked for the paper for 30 years.
She lives in New York and is an avid collector of many different things.  She loves collecting  vintage cardigans and 1920s bracelets; rag dolls meant to resemble French cartoon
characters, Becassine dolls) and Victorian children's jewelry--

the rarer, the more elusive, the less findable, the better.

I'm not sure how old she is, I can't seem to find any information about her age.  But here are some of the outfits that she wears which I love.  She always has that distinctive Ginger Short Bob/Bowl cut`.  Black drawn on dolls lips and two dots of rouge just like her dolls.

My Natural Hair Style for the Convention

I have been planning this for a while and yesterday my daughters friend came and plaited my hair with corn rows in pattern formation.  First of all I had to quickly wash and condition it.

After I washed and conditioned my hair I parted it on the side, diagonally across my head to the other side at the bottom.  Than I Blow dried that section and twisted it into four big twists and awaited the plaiting.

I plaited the other side in single plaits in order to stretch out my hair I will take it out and twist it everyday so that I can get a big twist out on the other side I will post pictures of the final looks on Fri, Sat, Sun.

This is the beginning of a new year, new projects and new adventures.  I am determined to be more active, more creative and get more work d...
